Overview
The Director of Life Enrichment plays a pivotal role in the life of our community through engaging activities for residents. Through physical, social, and spiritual programming, they create a calendar full of options for residents to stay engaged, pursue new interest, and enjoy life-long learning. Through various activities and outings, they encourage seniors to connect with the team, each other, and the greater community. The Life Enrichment Director selects and directly supervises a team of activity assistants who will support the community mission to provide exciting, meaningful life enrichment opportunities for all residents and also ensures compliance with appropriate licensing agency regulations. The Life Enrichment Director is responsible for the development and implementation of the activity program at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, as well as supervision and training of the Activity Coordinator, Activity Assistants and volunteer staff. The Life Enrichment Director reports to the Assistant Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop monthly activity calendars for nursing, assisted living, and memory care
- Lead long-term planning of activity schedules and initiatives
- Evaluate activity program effectiveness and recommend improvements to supervisor
- Communicate with care team regarding individual resident engagement
- Continually encourage resident participation in programs and solicit feedback
- Interact and communicate well with residents, family members, and guests
- Assist with oversight of new residents move-in process and orientation
- Ability to safely operate community vehicle
- Attend various in-service trainings
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
- Must be a certified therapeutic recreational therapist, CTRS through NCTRC; or and Activity Director Certified, ADC through NCCAP
- Previous experience in recreational therapy or in senior living setting is preferred
